This month Jasper has come on leaps and bounds. I think I said that last month but he really is blossoming.
We went out this Bank Holiday Monday and when we looked back at the pictures I was shocked at how grown up he looked. I will treat him like a newborn baby forever and a day though so makes no odds to me!
At 11 months Jasper is…
Jasper still eats well but has been preferring less ‘saucy’ foods. He tasted ice cream today and that was a hoot, the temperature and the fact it got on his hands where not a big hit with him. He still likes meat and also pasta. He can eat a really big portion which surprises me! He is still breastfed as well and I can say this is decreasing. A few days this month he has only had his morning and evening feed with a few glugs during the day. Those two feeds will be in place for a good while yet though I imagine.
Jasper is now wearing 18-24 months in all brands, he has grown a huge amount in a short time and now I am trying to re-stock his wardrobe so he actually has something to wear. This month he wore his first shirt! It was a gorgeous gift he got for Easter off his Great Nan. I am fussy with the clothes he wears so often I exchange clothing gifts (My bad!) but this was spot on.
This month has seen a horrible bout of nappy rash. It has been really sore and I have been trying to change him every hour or so. This means obviously the cloth nappies would be getting used quicker than I can wash them so until it clears I am using disposables. I have been using Sudocrem as well and I understand this isn’t recommended with the real nappies as it changes the absorption. Hopefully be back to normal soon!
Sleep has been bad this month. He is waking a lot in the night and staying awake for a good amount of time. I’m so tired and it is really really hard but I think some of it is owing to the pain of the nappy rash and he is also getting new teeth all the time. Poor love can’t be very comfortable. He is going to bed really well though so that’s a positive.
On the move
Still crawling and pulling himself along the furniture. He is becoming more able and doesn’t fall as much as he did. People have been commenting on how rough and tumble he is, he definitely isn’t afraid of giving things a go!
I forget where we were on this last month but his speech is coming on really well. He now say’s Dog, Out, Hiya, Alright? and his absolute favorite word is ‘LOLA!’.
Far too many to mention! He is such a gorgeous character, always full of fun and exploring.
In a few weeks Jasper will be one! So next month I will do a full year update and talk about the highs and lows in my first year with Little J. (Many, many highs, I forgot the lows)
