Half term is stretching out ahead of us and if you’re like me you will be glad of a break from those hectic early mornings and a slightly slower pace of life.
The days can be long though and no one wants to go stir crazy so I’ve put together a little guide featuring some events and ideas for things to do over the holiday.
We were planning a trip to the zoo anyway over half term, but I got super excited when I saw the event they have on at the moment- it sounds fantastic! Featuring musicians, aerialists, acrobats and of course animals you must follow the wise owl to claim back the stolen superpowers of the nocturnal animals. The trail is free with entry to the zoo, however be sure to book your place online before you visit as they are limited.
Greenacres has a ghostly treasure hunt and monsters lurking in the park for the whole of October. They also have spooky treats available in the cafe.
Bellis brothers farm shop and garden centre is THE place for pumpkin picking. With pumpkins from £1.50 they also have a spooky maize maze and different activities including pumpkin carving workshops throughout the week.
Head to Loggerheads country park for a Halloween hunt, complete the trail to win a prize. Suitable for all ages it costs £2.50 to take part.
Mold finally has a soft play centre of its very own. If you haven’t been yet I would reccomend a trip over half term to burn off some of that never ending energy. With a baby area, toddler area and lots of fun for the big kids too you might actually get the chance to sit back and relax with one of their lovely coffees. Plus, for those of you like me who have a gaggle of children, pay for 3 kids and get entry for the 4th FREE.
Greenfield valley is holding Halloween themed events throughout the week, check out their website and facebook page for more details.
Meet at the bowling pavilion 1:30-3:30PM for a free Halloween hunt. Suitable for all ages.
At Alyn Waters country park on the 26th you can take part in Wizards and Witches hats and wands between 1:30 and 3:30PM. Children of all ages can make hats for Halloween. Tickets are £2.50.
Ty Mawr Country Park
Get down to Ty Mawr country park to make your own Autumn lantern. From 1:30 until 3:30PM children of all ages can join in with this lovely craft for £2.50.
From 10 until 3PM head to Buckley library for The Going Batty children’s fun day. There are crafts, competitions and children are invited to attend in fancy dress. Before you go get a free ticket from Buckley library for the magic show.
All information correct at time of publication, with all events detailed above please double check before you attend with the venue there have been no changes to plans.
