I was tagged by Jaymee at The Mum Diaries to answer these questions about my bedtime routine, Thanks Jaymee!
Describe your usual bedtime routine.
Usually the kids will go to bed and then I’ll have a clean and tidy up, eat dinner if I haven’t already and have a bath. Then Sam and I will watch TV or Sam will spend the evening on his PS4 and I’ll watch boxsets on Netflix or similar. Occasionally I’ll sit in the same spot drinking glass after glass of wine and then head to the toilet and realize I’m three sheets to the wind and can barely walk *cough* Friday Night *cough*
What are your favourite pyjamas?
I have some lovely blue satin ones from Asos I’m wearing an awful lot lately.
What is your current bedtime reading?
I don’t really read much anymore but I have just re-read (for about the 50th time) Elvis and Me by Priscilla Presley.
These days I tend to dip in and out of books I’ve already read just reading a chapter or two. I read the same ones over and over again and it brings me a kind of comfort to go over the same stories again.
What would I find on your bedside table?
Our room resembles a bedsit at the moment so I don’t even have one. We are in the process of decorating so there are things everywhere and it’s all a bit unorganized. At the side of my bed though I always have my slippers.
What scent makes you sleepy?
That’s a tough one and I’m having trouble thinking of anything. My favourite bedtime scent is just washed sheets but I wouldn’t say that makes me sleepy.
What is your usual bedtime and wakeup time?
I usually head to bed by around half 10 and then getting up is pretty much down to the kids. Most of the time they are up by half 7 but the last few days they have been waking before 5AM.
What are your top three bedtime products?
I always wipe my face with baby wipes and put on moisturizer and then I guess some kind of body lotion I would put on after my bath.
What is your most common sleeping position?
I lie flat on my back with my hands by my sides. Sam has never got over it and laughs at my corpse position every time he walks in the bedroom.
Do you have anything you like to take to bed with you?
What is your worst bedtime habit?
Overthinking or talking for hours. I’ll be dead beat and then get into bed and start thinking about things that happened years ago or remember something I wanted to tell Sam.
